Grey-Green/White Spot Jug

This elegantly simple Susie Watson jug is part of a whole range of quality hand-made pedigree pottery made to the highest standards, just as you would expect from Heart to Home. It's available in medium size, which holds a pint of liquid and has a very broad base.

Susie Watson pottery is made in a family-run Sri Lankan factory which has been making pottery using traditional methods and in ethical conditions since 1968. Each of these jugs is made from moulded clay and fired in a kiln before being hand-dipped and then hand-decorated.

Believe it or not, the white spots on these neutral grey-green jugs are actually drops of white clay which are dropped on by hand in exactly the right size and position by skilled artists. After decorating, the clay is fired in the kiln once again, then glazed by hand and finally fired for a third time.

It's only through this immensely labour-intensive process that it is possible to create the immaculate finish that makes Susie Watson pottery so desirable. We think it's more like poetry than pottery and because these jugs are made to last, their craftsmanship will be inspiring you for years to come.
