Hanging out your clothes on a line is simply the "greener" way to dry them - there's no escaping it. A washing line has zero carbon emissions per load and, even if you're not swayed by the ecological benefits, the sun and the wind don't shrink your clothes, unlike a tumble dryer; and dryers can also strip your garments of those fine fibres that keep them feeling soft and fluffy.

Worse still, if you dry everything indoors in your tumble dryer, you will never have a chance to show off this wonderful peg bag to your admiring neighbours over the garden fence. And it would be a great shame to miss an opportunity to demonstrate your extraordinary good taste.

They're 100% cotton, apart from the wood and metal hanger. And of course they're not suitable for the tumble dryer - at best it would be ironic and at worst it could cause some sort of lethal paradox that would cause the whole universe to fold in on itself.
